Tatte Bakery should consider changing their name. Sure, the baked goods are the star of the show at this much-hyped café. The palmiers, tartlettes, tea cakes, and croissants are the stuff of dreams. But Tatte Bakery also serves an excellent breakfast, lunch, or dinner of fresh and inventive fare. Choose from a variety of richly spiced shakshuka, grain bowls and salads, or an avocado tartine. Or what about a Croque Madam, short rib grilled cheese, or vegan winter farro bowl? No matter the time of day, Tatte Bakery has something delicious. You can also stop in for expertly made coffee drinks, plus juices exclusively pressed for Tatte. Unfortunately, the pandemic is making it slightly tougher to enjoy this new café.
Only outdoor seating is available, and there is often a line for grab and go. But once you taste the food and pastries, you certainly won’t mind the wait. Find Tatte Bakery on New Hampshire Avenue in the West End, with daily operating hours from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
