With Spring around the corner, you’re going to be itching to get outside and take advantage of all the natural wonders surrounding DC. Don’t forget Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens along the Anacostia Trail when the weather breaks.
The park contains various types of land and aquatic plants, and plenty of ranger-led tours to help you explore the surrounding terrain. A highlight of Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens is when the water lilies and lotuses bloom in July, but don’t wait until then to plan your first visit of the year. Take advantage of free admission and nature, garden, or bird walks held all year long, and be sure to stop at the nature center for maps, park information, and the gift shop. You can even explore the park from the water when you rent a kayak or canoe from Anacostia Park or Bladensburg Waterfront Park.
Visit the website for seasonal hours of operation or to schedule a ranger-led tour.
