The fourth annual Double Exposure Investigative Film Festival kicks off on Wednesday, October 10th and continue through Sunday, October 14. Hosted by the investigative news organization 100Reporters, DX (as festival-goers call it) combines screenings of dozens of documentary, narrative, and short films with roundtable discussions, workshops, and master classes featuring some of the biggest names in film, journalism, politics, and multimedia storytelling.
Some of the showcase events at this year’s festival include a screening of the Watergate documentary with an ensuing discussion featuring the filmmakers as well as some of the special prosecutor’s investigative team. Other panels will examine the emergence of “deep fakes,” or you might attend workshops on crypto and surveillance. Films will be screened at the Naval Heritage Center on Pennsylvania Avenue and the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery on 8th and F. Symposium events will be held at the National Union Building and The Loft at 600 F.
