Directly across the street from Woodrow Wilson High School is Fort Reno Center Stage, a volunteer-run concert venue in Tenleytown. Fort Reno Park is the highest point in the city, and just as amazingly, the stage here has seen some of the greatest hits of the DC music scene for the last four decades.
The shows often include up-and-coming bands, as well as more established performers. Shows are held on Mondays and Thursdays, and are free and open to the public. Bring a blanket and a picnic to share with the family (or your dog!), but make sure not to bring alcohol or glass bottles, please. Upcoming performances include bands like American Television, Cinema Hearts, Mimi Loco, Chimp Suit, Jail Solidarity, and Don Zientara. Check the Fort Reno website for more details.
