Celebrate Australian Aboriginal Culture at the “Marking the Infinite” Exhibit at The Phillips Collection

Located in the Dupont Circle neighborhood, The Phillips Collection is presenting Marking the Infinite: Contemporary Women Artists from Aboriginal Australia through September 9th. Celebrating Australian Aboriginal culture, the exhibition includes 68 works drawn from the collection of Miami-based collectors and philanthropists Debra and Dennis Scholl, with many works commissioned just for the exhibition. Marking the Infinite features artwork from nine leading Aboriginal Australian women artists, such as Carlene West, Regina Pilawuk Wilson, and Lena Yarinkura. The exhibition showcases artwork steeped in ancient cultural traditions that also speaks to universal contemporary themes.

Admission to the exhibition is $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Visitors that are 18 years and under are free. Visit the Phillips Collection Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. While nearby street parking is available, the museum is also easily accessible via the Metrorail and Metrobus.
